Pregame:
The Cardinals is the best franchise in the PBA. The Giants used to be very good, got bad, and are now good enough. The Cardinals and Giants could not be more different.
Cardinals:
The Cards are built on great pitching and a top heavy lineup. With a 3 man rotation for the playoffs of Chick Robitaille, Frank Arellanes, and Jesse Tannehill, the Cards are not what they used to be. Arellanes is a true ace and of the best pitchers in the NL, Chick and Tanny are a couple of old arms that still have a lot left. The Cards may rely on Easterly, Speaker, Collins and Stahl to carry much of the load. The Cards have a great lineup, but this might be the weakest team they have had in quite some time.
Giants:
The Giants are led by old Ace Christy Mathewson who was hurt most of the year, but seems to be back on track after injuries have just about derailed his career. Irish McIveen is a good arm, but has yet to ever put things together. The Giants have a questionable rotation, but Mathewson is going to be tough to beat 3 times.
Prediction:
It is hard to bet against the Cardinals and I am not going to. This might be the weakest Cardinals team in some time, but they have enough juice to beat the Giants.

Game 1:
The Giants sent Christy Mathewson to the mound to face Jesse Tannehill and what a game we got! The game was a classic lasting 11 innings and we got quite the pitching duel. The Giants pulled ahead in the 11th and the Cardinals were unable to answer. Easterly struggled all game going 0-5 and never set his team up to drive him in. 13,824 fans showed up to root the home team on, but it just wasn't enough. The series will stay in St. Louis for Game Two.

Game 2:
The Giants made very short work of the Cardinals as neither pitcher had a very good game, but the Giants were able to score just a few more runs. One thing of Note is that RF John Williams was injured and will be day to day for at least the rest of the week.
The Cardinals middle of the order came alive with Easterly, Speaker, Collins, and Stahl all had very good games and scored runs. The issue with the Cardinals were their defense. 5 errors is what did them in and create a situation where they were behind.
The Cardinals are now behind 0-2.

Game 3:
The Giants and Cards played another classic. The game lasted 11 innings with the hometown Giants winning 9-8 in the last at bat of the game.
The Cards sent SP and Ace Chick Robitaille to the mound and he was lit up like a Christmas tree. He was pulled after 5 IP and 11 hits and 8 ER. Milton entered the game and played well, but it was too late. Mitchell, for the Giants didn't have a great game, but the Giants scored just enough.
RF Steve Evans, of the Giants, was named player of the game going 4 for 5 with 2 Runs and 4 RBI and a walk.
The Cardinals have their back up against the wall. They have come back before so no one should count them out.

Game 4:
The series went forward in NY and the Cardinals were able to put the Giants in their place 4-1. In a game that last 2 hours and 34 minutes, SP Larry Hesterfer just didn't bring enough to stop this Cardinals offense. Ace SP Frank Arellanes pitched a gem of a game to keep the Cardinals alive with their back against the wall. Frank was named player of the game, but Easterly continues to struggle and it doesn't give a lot of hope to the Cardinal hopeful.
Eddie Collins has had a great series and Tris Speaker has done good, but the 1-2 combo of Ted Easterly and J. Hannifin needs to set the table better for the big bats to knock in some runs.
The 2-4 spot for the Giants has been very good all series and they hope they can continue to play over their head in game 5 so they can quickly end this series.

Game 5:
St. Louis came storming back again with a 10-4 win! Easterly had a great game going 4-6 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Eddie Collins also had a good game going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI. The Cardinals offense is heating up and the Giants are showing they may not have an answer. They are going to get one more start out of Mathewson and that might be their only chance.
Tannehill might have given up 12 hits, but he spread them out and only 4 runs was given up. Killian had a much rougher time giving up 10 runs over 7.1. The 5 errors killed the Giants.

Game 6:
At one point in this series the Cardinals were down 0-3 and now after winning this game 3-2 the series is tied 3-3. The Cardinals did this last year in the NLCS and they need one more game to come back, take the series and move on to the World Series.
A note is Easterly is still struggling going 0-3 to bring his average for the playoffs to .214. Eddlie Collins has been hot all series (.346). The story of this game was Mathewson (the singular hope for the Giants) and how the Cards were able to score 3 runs against him. Chick Robitaille's name should go down in Cardinals baseball history after the performance he put on tonight. Chick, the journeyman pitcher, shut Christy Mathewson down and that is why baseball is so great and unpredictable.
14,348 fans showed up in St. Louis to root the home team on. Game 7 should be a doozy!

Game 7:
It is not often you get a Game 7 with this much anticipation. The Giants won the first 3 games and the Cardinals won the last three. It now comes down to 1 game. The Giants are sending McIlveen to the mound against SP ACE Fred Arellanes, who first came a live in the playoffs.
The Giants were able to finish the series 4-0 with the Cardinals unable to score any runs. With a combination of McIlveen and Theilman the Giants were able to shut out the Cardinals. Arellanes just didn't have enough juice to finish off game 7 and went the complete game but 13 hit and 4 runs was just way to much.
The Giants offense finally came alive and Bubbles Hargrave hot 3 hits and lead off man John Williams added 2 more. Steve Evans showcased why he sits in the middle of this lineup.
The Giants are moving on to the World Series in what should be an exciting match up.

Tenny in game 1, seriously!
(Good luck Giants! Do the NL proud.)
