The Cardinals are by far the better team, but the Red Sox are not bad either. Who will pull this out?

Pre game:
The Red Sox and the Cardinals played here for the 1909 World Series with the Cardinals coming out on top. As good as the Cardinals are, they have only one championship. The Cardinals are by far the better team, but can they win the series? The Cardinals beat the Red Sox in all categories.

Game 1:
The game was tied and the game went into extra innings, but the Red Sox scored 3 in th 10th to win the game 6-3. Frank Smith pitched nearly the complete game, but his 4 runs was too much. Fisher didn't last as long, but the bullpen came through for the club. 20,861 fans showed up in St. Louis to watch the Cardinals. 2b M. Rath of the Red Sox had a huge game going 2 for 5 with 3 RBI and 1 run scored.

Game 2:
Boston sent Lew Polchow to the mound against Chick Robitaille and he didn't give up a run all game (combining with Mattern). Chick pitched a great game in front of 20,922 home town fans, but it wasn't enough as the Red Sox won 2-0. The Cardinals have their backs up against the wall and the Red Sox look ready to end the series in Boston. Could the Cardinals have come this far just to lose again?

Game 3:
Entering the game, the Sox were 6-3 in the playoffs while the Cards were 4-4 and things were looking down for the Cardinals hopeful. But Starting pitcher Fred Arellanes stepped up and allowed the Cardinals to win 4-2. This should bring some hope to the franchise that has been very good, but normally comes up short in the playoffs. Only 11,481 fans showed up leaving the PBA higher ups wondering why people are not supporting the league or these teams. The Red Sox are primed to win a World Series and their fans are not showing up.

Game 4:
The Cardinals are in Boston and really need a win here to tie the series and to keep their back off the wall. But the Red Sox scored 3 in the first 2 innings and the Cardinals offense had no answer. The Cardinals lose 5-2 and giving the Red Sox a 3-1 game advantage. Frank Smith just looked old and tired lasting only 7 IP and giving up 7 hits and 4 runs (all earned). Barberich, on the other hand, stepped up his game spreading 2 runs over 8 IP. 11,356 fans in Boston showed up to cheer their team one game closer to the World Series.

The Red Sox seem to have the Cardinals right where they want them. But the Red Sox were about the learn in Game 5 is that the Cardinals do not give up. The Cardinals crushed the Sox 15-5 and their offense exploded against Tom Fisher, one of the best pitchers in the history of the PBA.
On a side note, Al Burch set a NL Playoff game record with 4 walks. Eddie Collins also broke a record with 4 runs scored in a NL playoff game. And later in the game Jake Stahl tied the record with 4 runs scored.
Chick Robitaille kept the Cardinals in the game and once they got the lead he really settled down. The Cards are down 3-2 and move the series back to St. Louis.

Game 6:
The Cardinals took the series home and had their backs to the wall. And they did not come up short winning 4-2 and they are in the progress of making one of the best come backs in World Series history! SP Fred Arellanes became a World Series hero his rookie season and lives again to show why he is the best Big Game Pitcher in the PBA. He is 3-0 in the series and pitched another complete game. 20,939 fans showed up in St. Louis to see the Cardinals win a must win. The game shifts to a one game showdown and our first ever Game 7 World Series!

Game 7:
Game 7 ends the first in PBA history and it was a comeback for the ages! Frank Smith brought his record to 3-3 for the playoff run to cap a wonderful series for the Cardinals. The Cards scored 6 in the first and they never looked back on their way to a 9-1 victory. The Sox were forced to send Joseph Myers to the mound and it was ugly from the start. He lasted 4.2 IP giving up 8 runs. It was an ugly massacre. 20,887 fans showed up to show the world they were firmly behind their home town team.
