The Cardinals are by far the best team in the NL and beat out the Reds to make this happen. The Superbas come into the playoffs this year at full power (unlike last year) so they are looking for some revenge.

The NL gives us an interesting re-match from last year's NLCS. The Cardinals are by far the best team in the PBA, but the best team does not always win. Pitching was always a weak spot for the Cards, but no longer. Frank Smith most of the season, but he was still 5-0 1.10 for the season. Chappie McFarland had another great season going 29-7 2.07 and could be pitcher of the year. It just gets better and better from there. The offense is incredible and is lead by C Ted Easterly, Tris Speaker and Eddie Collins. It just does not get much better than this.
Brooklyn gets by more on a team effort. Tom Huges and Rip Ragan lead this team by example and heart. Neither won 20 games, but this team is deep. Nobody on the team hit .300 and their rank about 5th in the NL in most offensive categories. The Superbas are just not built to beat the Cards.
Prediction: Cards in 4

Game 1:
Mike O'Toole heads to the mound against Ace Frank Smith. Smith is one of the best players ever to play in the PBA and he gives the Cardinals a huge advantage in the game. None of this mattered to the Superbas who came out in the 2nd to score two and 3 in the third. Tom Hughes pitched brilliantly going all 9 IP and giving up just 2 ER to the vaunted Cardinals offense. Frank Chance, the wily veteran, went 2 for 4 and a triple. The Cardinals looked lost and the Superbas looked ready.

Game 2:
The Cardinals were hoping for a different outcome in Game 2 and Chick Robitaille would take the mound for them. Rip Ragan took the mound for the Superbas hoping to slam the door on his old teammates. The Cardinals were having none of it. Their offense exploded in the first 3 innings to end the night for Ragan and the Superbas. Rip only lasted 5 IP giving up 10 hits and 8 runs. Fred Parent was named player of the game for his four for four performance. Over 13,000 fans showed up hoping the Cardinals could even the series.

Game 3: As the series shifts to Brooklyn, the fans of the PBA wait for the first pitch to be thrown to see if the Superbas can get revenge for their loss last season in the NLCS. Ace VS Ace: Frank Smith vs Tom Hughes. This game should be legendary. Instead, we get a blow out.
Tom Hughes ended up getting scratched and Buddy Veil got the start and didn't look good at all. Over 7.2 IP, Veil gave up 10 hits 7 runs (5 ER) and a homerun for an ERA of 5.87. Frank Smith, on the other hand, didn't give up a run all day. 15,311 fans showed up to root on the Superbas, but it wasn't enough. Tris Speaker is only hitting .083 for the series, but the Cardinals have enough around him to soften the blow. Ted Easterly continues to set the stage on top of the lineup. The Cardinals are good enough to put this series away.

Game 4:
The Superbas send Ace Tom Hughes to the mound to face Chick Robitallie. Chick has been a journeyman, but the Cards are the kings of taking a journeyman pitcher and making them an ace (24 wins this season for Chick). But today, it was not enough. Hughes showed what talent, will and a curveball could do to even the best hitting teams. The Cardinals were not able to score any runs and the Supers tied the series at 2.

With the series tied 2-2, the Superbas had to feel good entering the game. But the Cardinals were able to deflate them with very little fanfare. Arellanes did a serviceable job giving up 3 runs over 9 IP, but Charlie Case (the former Cardinal) got lit up for 7 ER over 7 IP. It was ugly from the start. 16,425 fans show up in Brooklyn to see Tris Speaker be named player of the game. Speaker went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. LF Daniels went down with an injury and it is unknown how much time he will miss.

FYI - in the future can you put the actual score of the game in the post. Sometimes I have a hard time telling who actually won.
Thanks.

Game 6:
Cards 2, Superbas 1
The Cardinals slammed the door shut on Game 6 allowing the Superbas to go home early for the second year in a row. The Superbas thought about pitching Hughes in Game 6, but decided to save him for 7 and gave the ball to Rip Ragan against Frank Smith. The Superbas kept it close all game and there is no indication that Hughes could have done better. In the end, the Superbas just did not score enough runs.
