The Detroit Tigers completed a deal that will hopefully propel the team into the playoffs. Right now, we are behind the Naps and are below .500.
The Tigers trade SP King Brady, 2b Paddy Baumann, CL Sherry Smith, and RF Gus Williams for SP Jesse Tannehill and RF Harry Lumley.
King Brady has all the stuff to be a top pitcher, but is having a down year and we need someone right now. In steps long time ace Jesse Tannehill. Tanny has been one of the top flight pitchers in the PBA for years and are happy to have him on top of our rotation to be a great combination with Bob Dresser. This pickup of Tanny instantly makes the us a true competitor for the Playoffs and possibly the World Series. Harry Lumley was included in the deal to take the place of losing Gus Williams in the trade and Vin Campbell being out for the rest of the season. I think with Campbell we could have made a true push, but without him things may get very rocky for us.

The Highlanders agree to the terms of the deal. With the Red Sox playing outstanding baseball, we are out of the race this season and a 36 year old pitcher might be out of our plans. Tanny is still one of the best though. It was tough to get rid of him in what could be a Pitcher of the Year season. We feel like we got some guys who can help us long term.

Trade Confirmed. This might be the biggest deal in PBA history.
