Pretty simple - clear cut.
The Browns signed Type A Charlie Hemphill from the Red Sox. Since the Browns have a top half pick, they lose a second round choice, and the Red Sox get a sandwich pick.
Sammy Strang was also a Type A. When the Doves signed him, the A's picked up the #11 pick in the first round, along with a sandwich pick.
And that's been it thus far. The system has worked the way it was supposed to for two straight seasons now.

Now it only remains to be seen if the players signed were worth the loss of the picks!
