I have come up with a fun twist that we can help use to fill in some blanks.
1. In this time period (and for a while), teams ended up keeping the same players year after year.
2. In the PBA, players tend to move around a little more than normal, which is good and bad.
3. To fix this and help teams retain their favorite/best players, we thought up a system of "franchise players". The exact details are yet to be worked out, but the thought is this:
A. You can select one player as your franchise player.
B. He must be signed to a no trade clause and cannot be traded.
C. The only way to rid yourself of the player is to waive, cut, or let him walk as a Free Agent.
D. After he is no longer on your team, you can then choose another player as the "Franchise Player".
E. Basically, this allows you to trump your owners budget for one player. It does not mean you will sign him, only that you can sign him even if your budget does not dictate that you can. You still have to come to an agreement with the player.
So, these rules are not here to stay, this is just a basic outline of an idea. What do you think?

I like the idea of a Franchise Player.

I don't like it. We've already got divisions, free agency, etc. -- when does this cease being a historical league?
